Remote work the is new norm and is continuing to flourish. Dinasour companies like this one will only lose good people as they try to dominate and control employees.

There are leadership people who do live near a pulse point but are listed as virtual because their boss and few others on their team go to a different pulse point that is either more than an hour away or more than 50 miles. I hope HR reads this and does an audit for those who are “favored” by their boss. If you get fired or RIF because of the RTO, have your lawyer audit Elevance for favoritism and for not holding everyone to the same standards. You will win your case.
They are doing it to get people to quit. Why RIF when you can get people to quit and not have to pay.
Don't quit. Make them fire you and then file for unemployment and contest any denials through your local unemployment office indicating unfair treatment by the company.
They won’t have to worry about RIFs if they force people to RTO bc a lot of us will quit including me. Only reason I stayed with this corrupt toxic culture of a company was to work from home. I love my job and I love what I do here but I will not be going back into the office. I cried on my way home every single day when I worked in the office. The culture is toxic.

I haven't had cable in over 15 years. Watch TV at home......... Uhh sir I have all my streaming services on my phone with unlimited data just like everyone else in 2025. In fact I carry a tablet just for that. How about we just focus on getting the job done.
This is just a way to get people to leave.
I refuse to sit in my designated area in the office. The gossip, personal problems I hear from my team members, etc….I just can’t deal with it. It was bad enough when we were in the office 10+ years ago and I had no choice but to hear it but ge-z….something’s just don’t change. I go sit in an area all by myself and work. But still do less in the office than at home.
You know why I get along with my team? Because I don't have to pretend to like them, we work together when necessary but I don't have to listen to you blab all day about your son's girlfriend's cousin or pretend to care about throwing you a party for getting married for the 3rd time. Let me work in peace and quiet and a comfortable chair.
I once heard a very high level VP saying they felt people were just watching tv at home. I went to the office the other day and someone was watching a show on their phone. Where you are at doesn’t matter. I sc--w off in the office or at home. Being in the office doesn’t change anything. If managers did their jobs, they would know who was working versus not. I believe this is more about business leaders worrying about consumer spend and corporate real estate investments. No one wants to go back to that, be innovative and find another way to make money instead of forcing people into perpetuating this dead business model.
the people who want us to go in to "collaborate" are people that do not have calls with members, metrics to meet - they hang out with each other and "colloborate". They want us in the office to flex their power, pay for their real estate, etc. They are not stupid - they know 90% of people who go in - have no "meaningful connection" with anyone when they are in the office - THEY DO NOT CARE - IT IS A TALKING POINT -
I have been full time work at home for over 15 years. The few times we were forced to go into the office to make connections honestly said a quick hello to people then sat at my desk and worked. It's not like I am going to have these long conversations with people I don't know or even if I did know them we are working or on calls so sat there uncomfortable all day not talking to anyone anyhow and worked less hours than I do when I am home. At home I have my schedule I meet a neighbor who also works from home and we walk that is my connection. Also we all have our routines how many people are able to put their children on the bus without having to send them to before school programs because they have to rush to work. It's just a lot in this ever changing world we are going backwards.
Also our computers gave trackers can show how productive you are idle and non idle. My manager used to run us a report to show us
