Suncor is a far cry from the workplace it was when I first joined. It’s become more stressful and less rewarding, with noticeably weaker and less competent management than before. Streamlining teams without filling critical roles has left the rest of us at a clear disadvantage. But it is what it is - the job market isn’t great, and the pay still helps offset some of the downsides. That said, I’d jump at a better opportunity if one came along.

it is not even decent pay anymore, no raise in 6 years and shares go down every year
Suncor is trying to follow AND is jealous of CNRL. But this is comparing apples to oranges. There’s no reason it can’t be its own business. CNRL has lots of natural gas production, and very short distance to its mine for their upgrades and have the new technology for their upgraders. Having to live as a workaholic is bullsh-t, that’s no way to have a life. Suncor needs to be taken now as a company that will su-k your soul out and give you no life to live. Horrible. This is Rich Kruger, everytime I see him smile I see the most menacing evil grin. He ra--d Canadians and is proud of it.
Suncor tries to follow the "workaholic" way CNRL is doing. And an aggressive layoff method when it comes to layoffs
The core challenge lies in the bureaucratic structures that insulate valuable outcomes behind layers of management that often lack the competence to recognize, support, or deliver them
