I try to work on my OKRs and make a goal list every morning, but within 15 minutes I get interrupted by some dolt that wants to know if I have heard anything about the layoffs. Everyone in my building is dragging a-s and waiting & pins and needles. I simply cannot rally myself to do much actual real work.

The OP is trending EE for next July.
@Op you sound like you are in a high degree of stress and close to a nervous break down. Consider going to your doctor for help. After that, you can request medical leave. Don't tell your manager or HR any details. You can go home and focus on the well being of yourself and your family. Poof, no more talk of layoffs and toxic work environment. Good luck.
15 min? You’re working too hard man. Get that down to 5 min a day (focused solely on making PowerPoints) and you’ll be management material in no time.
That’s about 15-minutes more than I did each day after I was notified.
The reason was because of people with less skills/talent, and who contributed less, got to keep their jobs simply because they kissed a** with the right people. Hopefully they get tagged this time around. I know that’s harsh and brown nosing is the way things work, but I can’t bring myself to do that.
