I saw a LinkedIn post asking for refferals for a new role as her role at Intel M&A got affected.

Remember MacAfee... another monumental failure courtesy of Renee James. That deal was done in 2010 for $7.68 B. Why would you buy a declining software company that does virus protection? Spun out in 2016 valued at just $4.2 B....

RIF the entire M&A team

I echo the prior post. To date, Intel has not made a successful acquisition. Their recent Altera acquisition is a good example. As soon as they become part of Intel, every BU in Intel decides they want so programmable logic in the part which will never go to production. Altera gets buried with request, gets distracted, and lets Xilinx completely dominate the programmable space. Intel had no real plan for Altera and it ended up being a disaster.

You are kidding, right?

Intel is a disaster at M&A. Mobileye is a good point in question. What was the point in that? It was a waste of time and money.

Intel wants to grow through acquisition, which is easy to do when you're cash rich, but oftentimes has no real strategy and these acquired companies are left intact within Intel. It does a terrible job at integrating acquired companies. You could come in through an acquisition and work for Intel for 10 years, but never feel that you're part of the "Real Intel", despite all the One Intel stuff.
