Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

To Those Still At AIG / Stock Analysts

Just remember this is who you are working for:

https://fortune.com/2022/07/21/aig-imploded-2008-recession-financial-crisis-turnaround-plan-6000-employees-accenture/amp/

https://www.businessinsurance.com/article/20201027/NEWS06/912337398?template=printart

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-aig-ceo-idCAKBN2061ND

Read all three (most likely planted by PZ) stories - note the only analysts making any comments are from Piper Sandler and the same guy from Credit Suisse…coincidence?

CoreBridge IPO…

https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/aig-aims-raise-up-192-bln-us-ipo-unit-corebridge-2022-09-06/

“J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Piper Sandler, Wells Fargo and Deutsche Bank Securities are among the underwriters of the offering.”

Which one of these banks are not like the other?

Also remember your newest board member was at GE for 30+ years…I’m sure totally independent of PZ…

The fix is in. Best of luck if you’re still there.

I'm just being an a$$ to you. Here is reality.

I work very little and get paid well. Been around a while. Been coasting for a couple of years now. I do just enough now to stay above water, nothing more. I would say at best that takes me 2 to 3 hours a day. Just stay logged in then do whatever you want for the rest of the day. Go to the office one day a week, maybe every other week. Smile and say what a great place AIG is and how you love working for such a fantastic organization!

I have been preparing for quite some time to leave after this years sti. Frankly, I am bored. I need a challenge. AIG does not provide that for me. I am mostly done working for the remainder of 2022. I have ample pto and plan to use every last hour. Once 2023 arrives just sit back and wait for sti. Whatever they give is fine, don't care if I get meets, does not meet. Doesn't matter.

Once sti hits I don't quit, but go to full time job hunting mode. Once sti is paid i will go to working maybe 1 hour a day between submitting resumes and doing interviews. Of course, if AIG would be so gracious as to give me a severance before that time I would jump at it. Not holding out for that though, I am controlling my destiny, not AIG.

I write this not because you or anyone else cares what I plan to do, but because I have been virtually stress free from a work perspective since I put a plan in place and decided I am not playing the AIG game any longer. The sooner all of you do that, the better your life will become.

I do agree, AIG isn't going to change and it isn't going to get better so if you decide to stay you might as well accept that this is the new normal. This executive group will get richer and move on. You won't stop that. The next executive group will come in and cut expenses. They will get rich and move on. You can't stop that.If you stay you will most likely be let go at some point and every day you work here that eats at you. Stop complaining and worrying and do something about it.

Jumping off of the soap box now, good luck from the AIG Connecticut war from!

To the post below, enjoy your half work and getting “paid.” If you’re actually getting paid well, the Executive team will eventually figure that out and you’ll be next on the list to be culled. Best of luck getting severance

To the high and mighty previous post. Tell me why you are morally superior?

I go to work to make money. Just so happens I get paid well to do very little. I have put in my time at this dump. I used to be a top performer. I don't feel at all guilty for milking the AIG cow just like the executives do.

Corporate America may be the problem, but don't get mad at me because you haven't figured out how to play the game.

To the person posting “ i make a pretty good salary doing very little work on a daily basis so i don't really care as long as i get my piece of the pie.”

You’re part of the problem with corporate America and clearly lack any sort of moral compass, but you clearly know that since you still work at AIG. There’s a special place for people like you…

you don't get to make the rules pal. people can post as they like.

stock analysts are paid to promote and sell stocks. it's all propaganda. just like the media. no one asks hard questions to the people that are feeding them.

if you are that naive please don't post anything else on this blog, ever and stop acting like you are an investigative journalist. aig is corrupt, been that way for years. but i make a pretty good salary doing very little work on a daily basis so i don't really care as long as i get my piece of the pie.

loot the coffers pz, just keep feeding my 401k and we are all good.

Ok to those posting in this thread unless you have something to add, no need to post about being one of PZs cronies etc, that’s been done in multiple threads over the years.

Valuable information/input only please (see prior posts in this thread for multiple examples less the “in ritzy CT” post). If you’re still at AIG at this point and complaining you’re not very smart.

All the money went to stock repurchases / buy backs and paying down debt (more stock repurchases / buy backs). Creating “Stakeholder” / enriching large shareholders and the executive team is the top and only priority.

If you are lucky enough to be part of the in crowd then promotions and bonuses are waiting for you; otherwise for the rest of us, out it is the usual. More work, threats of layoffs, the dangling carrot - that if you work really hard and go above and beyond, you may have a chance at a less than inflation pay increase.

BD got a free pass because everyone was in his pocket. I assume that is also the case with PZ.

Other questions analysts never seem to ask…

https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2020/02/14/558458.htm

“AIG 200 is complete…where did that $1.3 billion go…? Can you please name some actual areas that the money was spent instead of just speaking in digital transformation platitudes…? A new website and outsourcing contract with Accenture don’t count”

“Why does every underwriting question still go to Mark Lyons? You’re the ‘numbers guy’ so wouldn’t you know all this…?” Duperreault got a free pass because he was 70+ years old…

So return to the office doesn't include the executive team. They get their own private bunker safe and sound in ritzy Connecticut. The hypocrisy never ceases to amaze.

Those stories were all written at the secret office PZ commissioned in Westport CT. I thought we built the new HQ in midtown? Nope. All of the secretive sell off meetings happen on the river in Westport aka the war room.
