Then the layoff hits. Everything vanishes.

No early exit. No negotiation. No respect.
Just empty promises and locked calendars.

during COVID Mark said employees need to make sacrifices and cut salaries and supposedly his own. But when the results were out the profits were up (due to salary cuts) the next year he took a bonus and reset the salaries to their pre inflation levels. Nice move Mark! And now when the stock has fallen he still takes a bonus and lays off long tenured employees.

But Forbes says that are one of the best companies to work for in Canada and fool.com says they have a bright future. The establishment won’t speak bad of OpenText and my guess is the OpenText pays for these reviews to cover up the negative PR. Mark wants AI since it won’t complain or question his motives.

Time to wise up—that’s who Mark really is. He’s been feeding lies to customers and investors without a second thought, so it’s no surprise he treats employees like nothing. That so-called “award”? Just a trap. He dangled it in front of you to make you run harder, knowing full well you’d never get it. The real kicker? He planned it that way from the start—setting the first payout three years out, just so he could yank it away and toss you aside with some lame excuse like “you weren’t active.” It’s calculated, it’s cruel, and honestly, people like that belong behind bars. Karma’s coming.

Mark values money… look at “The Open Text Way” graphic…”bias for cash”…”excellence over harmony”. Nothing about making great products or investing in employees. Mark would run the company by himself if he could… and honestly I think he thinks he can….Mark needs an ego check and to listen to his employees living in his own bubble watching videos created by Sandy Ono stating how awesome all the products are… look at the numbers of views on OpenText marketing videos on YouTube, they rarely go over 1000….I bet he has a picture of himself at Time Magazine Man of the Year in his office. Executives keep tellIng lies and convincing their inner circle they are true.

The AE on one of my deals (low 8 fig tcv) had his commission go to group "for review". Got stiffed. He left after that.
