You, you're not alone in feeling the way you do. There's something more to all of this, isn't there? While touting transparency US Bank hasn't been very forthcoming have they?
First: You are allowed to wish things were better or be upset about decisions the company make. Humans are complicated and have complex feelings. You can simultaneously enjoy your job while fighting to make things better. The idea you should quit your job because there's something you don't agree with is complex. Certainly there's a line that can't be crossed for each individual but there's also things you can live with while resenting.
Second: Gunjan is a fraud. Just 2 years ago when we were returning to office she said she would entertain the idea that if someone believes their role or team was incorrectly mapped to hybrid instead of remote that they should reach out to management and have that reviewed. Many people tried, they all failed. It was never an honest, forthcoming offer. All in the name of fan fair.
Third: What is with the huge push to go back? For two years + uninterrupted many of us worked fully remote. COVID hadn't been bad for sometime and it felt like maybe we were never returning to the office. Then one day Andy reads an article in the Wallstreet journal and bo-m time to go back. But not just the people who were there pre-pandemic but the ones fully remote before as well. Why? What's the point? It's not collaboration. It's not team building. I've been in the office now for over 2 years, 3 days a week. It's quiet, we don't talk to one another unless we have to. And it was like that before the pandemic as well. It's not just my team, I see it all over. I'm sure others have other experiences and I hear that, all I can tell you is what I see. Is the push for RTO to stimulate the economy? To keep a closer eye on the peons? It's certainly not what they have told us it is. I would respect them more if they said "it's our company and we want you in office so you will come in to the office!" At least it wouldn't be a lie.
Bottom line: Caring about where your job is headed isn't insubordination. It means you care - and that's a good thing. If you are truly happy about everything in life that's awesome too but don't chastise the people who have put the thought into the future of this company. Ultimately we're all sc--wed anyways when AI has replaced 90%+ of our jobs in 10 to 15 years time.
