Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

For those who where independent contractors before becoming blue badge perm employees you would likely have a strong claim of a shame contracting arrangement against chevron. Suggest u explore this when the time comes to get a more better payout with either and employment lawyer or go straight to fair work commission.

BK and AS couldn’t even find employees to join ENGINE. It’s mostly contractors. Look at the org chart. Look at some of the photos of recent “all-hands” employee meetings. There’s no one there. It’s all labour hire.

We are going to have experienced FE’s, many with over a decade of experience, handing over to temp contractors in India, who will then hand over to employees when they’re onboarded. And those employees will eff off within 2-3 years once they’ve gained skills and experience for more pay, because that’s how it works.

I know I’m cooked. Already handing over workflows to contractors in India. I just want my number so I get out of dodge, get on with my life and look after my fam as best as I can. What will be rough though is Chevron je-ked me around for years with sham contracting arrangements, like many Wheatstone and Gorgon folks, so it’s not going to be a spectacular figure.

@a9, You mean no different than the amount of work you've already been doing ever since you hired on. (Not fooling anyone). Gotcha.

2 year remote support transition role is perfect. I’d take that and quiet quit the entire time.
