Hey all, I am a Technical Manager in Data and Analytics Engineering. We are hiring a lot on HIH and lot of times, I am just “told” what to do rather than being in on things. I am truly not happy the way leadership is running things . Keeping even the mgmt in dark. Then the hiring part, training part, laying off contractors etc are assigned to me and my team. They don’t understand the churn it takes to let go a person and hire another. The burnout is real. All this for getting my own position irrelevant one day.
Can anyone share some inside information on what is the future of middle management? How long can one hold on to these roles ? I have been trying outside but no luck given the tough market specially for middle management roles. I just need to know how long I have before they let me go.

China is going to overrun India. We will have to find cheap labor elsewhere.
OP here. My point was even the middle mgmt and directors sometimes do not know about these decisions. We are completely blindsided. We are getting quite vague responses from the leadership. There isn’t a single job or extremelt selective positions opening up in Cigna. But when you search HIH , it’s for all damn roles . Not just engineering anymore.
im in the tech side of Cigna and we had layoffs onsite and not even a week or 2 later we had more HIH members onboarded on to our team lol
“ Are they now hiring product managers from India too?”
YES
Checked the job board just now, looks like there are more than 300 jobs listed in HIH. Are they now hiring product managers from India too?
Middle management of data, delivery and product was planned to move to Hyderabad for the most part. If they are moving your work there, your day will most likely come. That being said, they can’t let go of all their SMEs. They will find out soon the HIH model will cost them more in the long run due to lack of quality and turnover.
Also, with Noelle out of the picture, KA will likely follow before long. Strategy could change sooner than we think. Both of them are fairly horrible leaders. Ineffective and lack of truly innovative vision.
My question: is this the big ‘data transformation’ that KA went on and on about? Sickening if it is. She should be ashamed.
One of the senior leaders said that there will be layoffs for sure when it comes to redundancy. You need to either work on multiple projects or do some AI stuff. Expect layoff if you are handling just 1 or 2 projects
I am also in D&A. I was checking out the jobs board last week and more than half of the jobs that fit my skill set are in Hyderbad (HIH).
Unless some government regulations come along soon, data folks will be out at cigna.
At least we’ll be able to take pleasure in knowing that the offshore teams will be nearly incapable of doing the work and things will get painful for the company.
MF if it’s assigned to you, we should be asking you, not the other way round
