At Pearson, you can do one of two things:

  1. Assiduously work to move on to a better career, which is nearly anything/anywhere other than Pearson. Don't let things like years served at Pearson cause you to stay.
  1. Firmly grasp your ankles and await your turn in the layoff barrel, as terms continue to get even worse for the laid off employee. Your time will come, soon.

@6yx because he keeps laying off people/teams, while saving himself

There's more fat in the PEM than a Fois Gras farm

Well with most of my closest colleagues (various departments) having now been laid off, I'm starting to feel more anxious about staying at Pearson and feeling they might actually be the lucky ones - anyone else feeling the same ?

Do they still have an office in Hoboken or is everyone remote now? I know they closed the SF office some time ago.

Two things are always certain at Pearson

  1. Upper Management will tell everyone the obvious of what needs to improve in our products and then do nothing and say the same talking points year after year without doing anything. SMS and better LMS integration to name two.
  2. Layoffs in the organization

Surely, next layoff will make us look good, I hope no one is watching the craze of cyber attacks

In just a Year, I've see at least one small round of layoffs per quarter.

There are talks about units needing to reduce expenses, need to make numbers look good.

Managers have a huge pressure and we can feel there's another round coming.

Either way, the PEM gets paid. Part of the problem.

"Yes and yes. But don't worry. AI will take up the slack. The shareholders will be pleased."

You are starting to understand.

"Is there anyone left to lay off ? Genuine question."

Plenty of fat still left to cut.
