Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

When is GT announcing it's restructure?

Pretty much all the organizations have completed their restructuring. When will GT announce its plans? Hoping to say goodbye to a few VPs here as well.

Everything to impact every company is what tech does. Cut GT if a f-around and find out type of suggestion. Find out quickly why that’s a d-mb idea. That’s like saying cut marketing/brand because agencies do all the work, design because Nike hasn’t made a great product in years, finance and let nobody manage money, distribution centers and let people just go to stores, etc.

I’m not even in GT to know this is silly. People who have no idea what they are talking about or very junior make those suggestions.

@cx+1jtnnym5a If you are worried about a VP to a VP you should look and realize that happens outside tech and outside Nike all the time. The work and level needed to drive it determines title. Not empire size. Sure Nike can go back to 20 VP roles but we would never hire or promote good talent where they need to be then everyone would complain about that next.

Close Atlanta, Poland, and ITC office. Quality and speed of delivery will go up because of the improved communication between engineers and teams.

No one cares about Global Tech. Outsource it all and cut the whole team.

ITC doesn't provide much benefit. Sometimes they can provide support when WHQ is off, but mostly they are evening tech support whose real job is to redirect issues to the people that know how to fix it when WHQ is back online

MD tech crew is busy empire building with VPs continuing to hire VPs to report to them. It’s infact as bad as RL era. GT is in need of deep cuts and restructuring.

GT is bloated from RL and his old LT hires. So many people doing jobs not skilled at or 2-3 people doing job of 1. Cuts are needed.

Promote those doing the real work like the process is supposed to do after you cut the fat and everyone wins.

For the record (maybe unpopular) I don’t mind the new tech domain leaders MD brought in the last 12 months outside of AJ who was a quick out. Much better than RL crew.

That’s weird because I’ve heard GT is actually piloting a new promotion process before the rest of the company.

Business will freak out when they learn they need to be up at weird hours to collab with tech teams on the other side of the world. Just waiting for the MD time bo-b to go off.

Has anyone seen any real benefit to ITC? It seems to make sense from incident management scenario, but new development that requires close ties to the business, that seems problematic on many levels, thoughts? And no culture bias please.
