Surcharge on all new orders

"Dear Valued Customers and Partners,

At Illumina, we strive each day to improve human health by unlocking the power of the genome. It is our great privilege to partner with customers like you in building a healthier future.

Over the past weeks, we have been spending time thinking through our approach to tariffs and the current economic environment. After a lot of thought and consideration, we identified the need to add a surcharge that reflects our increased costs.

From this point forward on all new orders, we will apply a surcharge for our customers in the US and Europe. In the US, we are adding a 5% surcharge on consumables products, a 2%–9% surcharge on instruments, and a 3.5% surcharge on most services, based on tariff and supply chain trends." -CCO

Adding a surcharge is not a "terrible strategy". It is the point, and result, of tariffs. ILMN may have issues but adding a surcharge is surely not one of them. Get real.

But remember we are all about making the customers the heroes!
Elements on the other side already pointed out our terrible strategy in their social media… and they won’t increase their pricing. To not hurt THE CUSTOMERS more! Brilliant Molly He! Brilliant.
