“Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to.”
Richard Branson
At OpenText the new way is
“Don’t train people well enough so they can leave, treat them poorly so they want to. Don’t have humans do work that AI can do”
Healthcare uses Faxes
Why.
Most of the products that originated from HPE(NA/NOM/NNMi, Data Center Automation, Operations Orchestrations, DataProtector, UCMDB, Arcsight, Fortify, SPI Dynamics, and Voltage) have struggled to transform into SaaS type products to follow customers from on-prem(either owned property or a co-lo) into AWS, GCS, Azure, etc.
Additionally, the public cloud offers their own replacements of the above.
Bottom line, the cloud is ki-ling the old HPE software business.
The rest of OpenText is old cr-p. Like who still uses fax services???
Opentext is an alleged acquistion target of SAP since at least 2004. Hasn't happened yet.
SAP please save us.
It’s interesting comment 100% SAP has major interest in the OT ADM (Devops) portfolio. Tricentis has a huge price tag and is nothing without SAP. 1 ALM functionality is simply industry standard; makes sense. 2 their QTP now UFT product really works and it does. 3 loadrunner ? Expensive but bulletproof and all seasoned performance testers love it. SAP will buy it at the right price cause it’s a great story and platform.
"It's hard to see a company being run to the ground first hand."
Ya get used to it.
I doubt SAP will acquire OT unless it's CEO is another egotist. OT not worth much now due to MB. It's like the reno nightmare that keep being fobbed off to the next su---r who overpay for it. If SAP can get it at a bargain price, then OK.
I sure wish we get acquired. It's hard to see a company being run to the ground first hand.
More layoffs. The more streamlined the company can be, the better it is as an acquisition. Then, of course, more layoffs. The corpse will be picked over as customers try to find alternate solutions.
Wonder what will be first, next round of layoffs or an announcement that OpenText is being acquired?
