Posting this here as it's anonymous. I can't handle the stress of this painful reorg and to be left standing and laid off in this job market is not something I can handle. At least if I go, CVX has to pay 2X my salary in life insurance to my family. That with my savings and other accounts they will be taken care of.

If you’re willing to do something like that, why not just announce it to management in their face?
Maybe it will make them change their minds and then you won’t have to go through with it. A job isn’t worth ending your life. Chevron isn’t worth it.
Life insurance does not pay out for su----e.
