Getting this thread started early for tomorrow. A lot of hoopla on data & insights and that AI stuff, but I am curious about new GM KG and running IT Operations in India. Let’s hear this guy talk for the first time and see what he’s all about!

Amazing that some people still think the only necessary job at Chevron is one directly involved in producing oil. As if the oil will come out, spill onto the pad and magically transform into money.
Shipping, pipeline, transportation, trading, procurement, regulatory reporting, shift planning and personnel management, warehousing, financial reporting and a hundred other things all are necessary for a company to operate. They don’t add revenue, and need to be as low cost as possible while still performing adequately, but field workers who act like they’re the only thing necessary for Chevron are clueless.
I don’t care about anything that was said at this townhall. I just don’t want a selection representative who doesn’t know who I am or what jobs are out there.
I am most worried that the majority of the selection reps have no idea what jobs are out there either as most of them are in the same boat as the rest of us.
Who cares
How many of you are producing oil
Ya we got 2 San Ramon people talking about the dni department, and neither of them are moving to huston
It felt strange to have a data and insights meeting and the real leaders of the area are nowhere to be seen at all. Maybe that is the big change.
Honest to God, I can’t do this for much longer. Sitting in these meetings makes me feel physically sick.
So many people in that meeting.
What do they do productive?
They just talk saying nothing.
What value do they bring to Chevron to move to first place? Unbelievable!
KG talking like a consultant? LOL
The dude needs some public speaking training. I swear the ENGINE people are more articulate than that uh clown uh yea uh you know uh yea uh um ok.
I just want my selection rep to fulfill his destiny to land me a job. It’s unfortunate that the only people speaking hardly know the data and insights employees or the IT ops employees. This whole thing was depressing.
Great to see this thread getting started—because at Chevron, we know that leadership moments are opportunities to strengthen our culture, elevate performance, and reinforce who we are.
As we continue to grow our capabilities in data, insights, and AI, we remain anchored in The Chevron Way—delivering results the right way, through integrity, partnership, diversity, high performance, and a deep commitment to protecting people and the environment.
The appointment of KG as GM of IT Operations in India is an important step in that journey. It reflects Chevron’s commitment to operating as one global team, leveraging talent across regions to drive innovation and efficiency—while staying aligned with our tenets of operation: do it safely or not at all, always obey the law, and respect every individual.
We’re looking forward to hearing KG’s vision and seeing how he will lead with clarity, purpose, and respect—fostering a culture where operational excellence and people development go hand in hand.
This is how we win the future: by staying grounded in our values and bold in our ambition—with Human Energy at the heart of it all.
They keep all the people because the AI team is only like 10 people
So the group that can easily go to AI keeps all the people?
Was DP really that amazing that they allowed him to work remotely from PA for that long? I never really knew him. May be he was drinking buddies with BB. Since his name isn't on the org chart, assuming he's leaving.
We're talking about layoffs or little girl's gossip? No place for ya'll to play online all day and you wondering why they need to slice & dice? lmao
Complete waste of time. So annoyed. Absolutely nothing said.
So what were the cliffnotes
Does KG not know what “workforce enablement” refers to? He is still talking like a consultant.
I think Copilot was used to create speaker notes. Scalable, standards, and best practices in generic terms is all that is said. Leadership via AI.
This meeting makes me want to yet myself into the void.
This leadership team has the charisma of a C-grade soap opera.
Uh, every IT Ops job is offshored. Data is not. I heard it was the largest organization of US based employees in IT. Well all working for MC because LC’s buddy didn’t work out.
I just hope that the data engineering leader DP can be part of the panel and then explain to us how amazing his home in PA has been and what a great job he has been enjoying for the last several years - practically retired but still getting paid obscene amounts of dollars while in retirement. Everyone should aspire to be like him.
Every data job is offshored. There, saved you time
Key message: we ain’t telling you squat so we can watch you squirm in pain
