Everyone's situation is different. Stop judging others for how they feel. On any given day, I fumble between wanting to be riffed and being terrified about it. If you truly want to, tell your boss or HR. Who knows if it works but live your dream.
No one, except maybe the trolls, who disguise themselves as well as giraffes next to zebras, is having a good time. Let people feel how they want. This is constant chaos. Do what you can to support yourself and those you care for.

My position was horribly stressful due to the company not wanting to pay claims. There was always a system glitch or human error. Try to get the claim paid and fellow employees would make it difficult. No ethics at Elevance
It’s a very sensitive topic during a very stressful time. Everybody has their unique situations at work and at home. After a year of misery when I felt I could not tolerate the direction of the business or leadership, I did finally get let go and actually felt very fortunate because I was already looking for another job. I hope it works out for everybody here in the way that they want. It is definitely a sad state of things when people are hoping to get laid off, I know, I’ve been there too.
OP could turn in the badge without provocation. I feel valued & impactful in my role, and would like to continue my employment.
Of course any of us could be RIF'd at any time.
Good luck with that I hope you get what you want. That way those of us who want to work have jobs. Maybe tell your boss so you can do us all a solid instead of coming on this board and looking for support and group therapy about poor you. My support is for those who did get let go, not you who sits around complaining but it still employed. I’m here looking for information.
