I will have to be out of office after I submit my job posts. will this affect my chance to be selected since I will not be accessible during subsequent selections meetings by those management?

No. The decisions have already been made and the names are in the org chart boxes. You will see a different version, but your fate has already been decided.
Both sides of the coin-could be you’re valued n they totally understand what position you’re in. On the other it could be true that most of these guys are duchebags n could be trying to get their guy into your spot. Either way—you’ve made it this far-roll it and then watch the haters or flip floppers do their backward crawl! You have as great a chance as anyone else!
Tell your selection rep how to reach you just in case they need to write you in for a job. If you are truly going to be unreachable, as in you are in surgery and they plan to keep you in a coma for 2 weeks for recovery, then tell your selection rep what exactly you want them to do if a write-in opportunity presents itself. Good luck.
All these people that can't figure out how to make themselves available during the selection period makes me feel better about my chances. If you can't figure out something as easy as that, you don't belong here. Should have EOI'ed when you had the chance.
Just bring a work phone or personal mobile device with byod access. It’s not that hard.
It's not clear if you out of office for business or leisure? If it's the latter, you're toast. If it's the former, why can't you be connected by VPN? Better have a full explanation to your PDR as to why you are not available to accept a position, if you are not left standing anyway. If they tell you not to worry about being available, then I'd worry. The die is cast.
Roll them dice!
the way it was explained to me was, you apply for up to 3 positions. You never get ask again and they decide if you get one of the positions you applied for. if you are not selected then you have a chance to apply in the PDC in June / July timeframe.
If you are not available to accept the position offered to you then you will not get the job and they will offer it to another person.
If you cannot submit a written response to accept the position then I would wonder why, because most places in the world have internet so you should be able to vpn in to accept the position. If you are in such a remote location that you cannot connect to the Internet, I would cancel your trip because if working at Chevron is not a priority for you then Chevron does not need you.
Poor priorities are not an excuse for not being available to respond.
Only if your rep wants to write you in for a position you didn’t apply to and tries to check with you first. But that’s very unlikely.
Well you may not have a job when you get back. Is it worth it?
