Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

At OpenText, we believe that maintaining physical, emotional, and mental health is essential for enabling each of us be our best.

Shake my head. How tone deaf can you be, OpenText? "For me, it’s the little things that really help, like stepping outside for some fresh air".

Well, for me, it's the little things like a strong ELT, realistic, achievable product goals, investment in employees and product, genuine support of innovation - and having fun (why not?).

All the benefits will be going to the AI bots. They work 24/7.

What’s Changing as of May 1, 2025:
• Life Insurance Coverage – Coverage will transition to 1x your annual earnings (previously 2x), which is in line with market practice. You still have the flexibility to purchase additional optional life insurance with Manulife (with group rates). Visit Health and Life Benefits in Canada on OTC to explore your options.
• Generic Dr-g Substitution – When a generic version of a prescribed dr-g is available, Manulife will reimburse 90% of the cost of the generic (previously 95%). This helps reduce overall costs but allows you access non-generic medication if you pay the difference. If you require a brand-name dr-g for medical reasons, you may submit supporting documentation for full reimbursement. Prescription dr-g costs have continued to increase, and a majority of employers have reduced the reimbursement levels for non-generic dr-gs.
• Major Dental Services – There are no changes to regular dental checkups and cleanings; they will remain 100% covered to support your preventive care needs. Coverage for major dental procedures, such as dentures and crowns, will be adjusted to 60% (previously 80%). This change helps preserve access to essential dental care while balancing overall plan costs.

My mental health was never worse than when I worked at that h-llhole.
No amount fresh air can fix that demoralizing, toxic place.
After I left I slept better, stopped having headaches, reduced anxiety and snapping at my kids.

I like how their last email that describes the decrease of benefits in Canada tries to justify every single thing.

Like how fu--ing stupid do you think we are? As stupid as Mark?
