"We have continued to explore progressive ways to monetize... Intel l6..."

Translated to english:

From best case to worst case, what does it mean?
1/ See if we can create more demand for products that l6 can make
2/ See if we can get some stupid private debt or private equity people to give us cash in return for owning a share of the future loses we expect to incur.
3/ If we can't grow revenue and we can't get d-mb money people to give us cash, we will consider selling off the equipment, renting out excess space, selling the building and/or liquidating whatever may generate funds.

I expect many of the non-EUV fabs will be off the Intel books as quickly as the company can divest them at a reasonable price.

This is where the really substantial headcount reductions are likely to happen, at least until the tool vendors and/or integrators start implementing AI functionality for the fabs.

Just think of the massive amount of time spent on manual efforts to categorize fab data.

You don't want to keep doing that for a career..

I thought that private equity already owns a substantial share of the Ireland site.

The older non-EUV fabs are bound to be sold. I thought that meant sold to a foundry but selling a portion to private equity is also possible.

Either way it will lead to massive restructuring of headcount, from the bespoke Intel model to something better aligned with other companies fabs.

It means they need a strategic partner to buy 49% of the operation

It means they are trying to find foundry customers for the 16nm node.
