What did MW expect would happen to safety when he has put the company through an insane amount of changes and now two major layoffs? He thinks it will get better by sending safety jobs to India? He's done this all to the company and himself while taking massive raises. We need a new ELT team if we want to save this company. Laying off constantly is not a recipe to win like he thinks.

If you look at our recent incidents and near misses, you might build some empathy for the folks who do the higher risk work for our company. They deserve the high pay. Especially when you realize that some of them will never be the same, whether it’s playing a musical instrument or coming up with the words to express their love of their children.
Yup - focusing on short term financials and pleasing shareholders has detrimental effects on safety and performance. Not that the consultants will ever tell MW that.
I'm sure he's laughing up his sleeve whenever a safety incident happens, since it's an excuse to knock the bonus percentage down. These people aren't concerned with the well-being of anyone who works for a living. Workers are pawns to be sacrificed for profit in the minds of Chevron's executives.

Saw the email, rolled my eyes, and deleted it without watching it. Hypocrisy at its finest.
Saving this company is not part of the game plan, if you haven't noticed already.
