Guess I'm toast as of tomorrow morning. Why on earth would the VP 3 levels above me schedule a mtg with me, and a few others on my team? My boss, his peer, and their boss have all been marked BRB on Teams since early afternoon. I think they're gone already.

What general dept or function? Sounds like a large rif.
Sorry to hear that, @Sunshine. You'll find something better.
It's cruel how they do the process. Staff VP sends a meeting invite for a 10am as just a touch base. Then meeting starts and they invite someone from HR in. I hope everyone lands on their feet, this is terrible.
@Sunshine Sorry to hear that. I know that I held out hope until that HR person came into the meeting on camera... then i knew my goose was cooked. You have to start looking for a job today, i'm not being hyperbolic.... its tough out there and you need to get ahead of it.
@Sunshine, sorry to hear this. What about your boss and those that you saw were OOO yesterday afternoon?
I got my notice in January and finishing week #9 unemployed. I hope you will be ok, I was actually thrilled to get let go as I had become miserable and only saw continued RIF, RTO and loss of business in the future.
Yes, I was laid off.
@dh+1jt45859k. In the past, it was inconsistent and usually up to your manager whether access was taken away immediately or you could work/take pto the last 30 days. A couple months back it went into effect that all RiFs are pay in lieu of notice which means you are paid during the notice period (30 days) but are not expected to work and your access is taken away the day you are notified. You are still an employee during those 30 days but will not have access.
I was riffed in August and my access shut off that day but one of my coworkers had to work for next 30days. In The Oct riff another coworker had to work 30 days. Don’t know why some people are let go the same day and others are not. I don’t know what the standard is. Aldo I was riffed at 9am and access wasn’t shut off until 4:30pm. So I was able to get what I needed off by EOD.
Your evaluations are about you. You’re entitled to that information. I made it a habit of immediately printing them after they happened. You can print your entire HR record in workday now. If you were at a normal company, they would give you a copy of your evaluation.
For me saw it coming. It was a blessing. Trust the process, lean into the change and remember who you are. The pause allows you to get clear to calculate your next steps.
Keep us posted please. My prayers are with you. May your job is protected.
I thought evals were considered protected/private info. We can send them to our personal emails?
Yes, that’s correct that you lose access immediately. Fortunately, my d-mb as rocks manager invited me to a meeting several days prior and I knew what was happening. Do not trust your managers. Just don’t. My manager was in a DV situation, I helped her with lawyer advice and the snake in the grass still lied to me and I was RIF’d. Zero integrity. Protect yourselves and preemptively send yourself any personal documents and evals.
That used to be how they did it. Last round of layoffs they cut off access immediately and you no longer work the 30 days. You are still paid but you lose all access.
To the person who said access is shut off immediately, I had 30 days’ notice and HR actually told me to send myself personal files such as resume or evaluations. I had a few things like course certificates as well as my RIF notice and instructions.
You and your boss are likely gone. Download and save your yearly reviews if you want those and get anything off your pc you may need. You will lose access immediately.
Similar situation and ghosting happening from leaders in our department today. Should make for an interesting tomorrow.
canned like tuna
Bruh…
Your boss got canned
Maybe a re-org for your department and the boss/peer are RIF’d?
dude
Same
who are you?
You may be picking up new job responsibilities
How early is the meeting? There is usually an early one for some, and then a later one for others
What area?
