Thread regarding Alteryx layoffs

Inspire

Are we making sure that no competitor-start up is planning on trolling us at Inspire again?

Events and Marketing people let that happen last year. Just curious if they are actually vetting the crowd this time so we don't look like complete fools again.

The company had people arguing on why the company should stay on SVN.

The early stage Gitlab nightmares were heaven compared to the manual jerry-rigging merges done did with SVN.

Then there was the fact they spent weeks upskillng devs on git. Just rtfm and go. Way easier than picking up a new language, or framework. And that is still nowhere near as difficult as academia.

You know, devs with actual STEM degrees, who are into continuous learning. Seems to be a lot to ask for at Fu-kteryx.

"AYX fell behind not because of on-premise in my mind, but simply because we don’t innovate on the Desktop product. No one cares about ‘dark mode’ and the user experience continues to be so clunky."

this statement is why we fell behind. B/c so many people think like you. The cloud has been here for 10 years and we still have employees that are so willing to die on the "windows" hill. WINDOWS. Not even browser based. it's just disgusting and we deserve all we get if we keep people around that don't keep up with the market needs.

Engineers complaining about lack of wlb on tasks that take them 3 weeks, that can be done half-assed in 3 days, are all, still here.

I would like to thank them for enabling my wlb. We sure do have quite the diverse workforce, if hiring people with a low IQ is diverse.

Some of those X employees were very good at their craft; they got steam rolled by new leaders that can’t spell analytics.

'Dingbats in marketing/digital/events are completely aloof.'

That's a wide net to cast.

Dataiku ate Alteryx’s lunch…and dinner…and breakfast.

We at Dataiku will be attending, but disguised as another company so you won’t know who we are.
Our takeout campaign against Alteryx has resulted in more than 250 Alteryx customers coming to Dataiku. And they are all very happy.

Homewreckers. May you enjoy a lifetime of sneezes that never quite actualize.

This is what happens when you have an organization full of engineers that should have switched majors in university or retired.

other vendors have 'versus' pages. it's not really new. is crashing/company event even legal

We don’t have any competition. No else in the market does windows based , small data elt that requires servers to run more than 10 users. All the vendors mentioned here are cloud native. Why on earth would we care about cloud? Certainly it’s just a phase . So we’re good. Just ask Hh!

Shhhh, don't tell them! Google Alerts has been around since 2003.

Savantlabs is the one I remember. They had their webpage up for months before Inspire.

How did our teams not catch this. Don't we have apps that track whenever Alteryx is mentioned online? Google Alerts does it for free, lol.

What are marketing/seo/analytics people doing all day?

Idk. Letting it happen whilst new CMO is in the crowd... Bad idea.

You mean the QR codes that were plastered all over the walls, linking to a competitor’s landing page where they literally trashed us?
