Coming back to this forum as I used to check it regularly when I still worked there.
Now a lot of people are worried about layoffs. Don't be. Is finding a tech job hard right now? Yes. But after a month of searching, i got one offer already and am final round interviewing with several other companies. It's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
Financial security aside, I didn't realize how much XITS was ruining my health. After I resigned, family and friends said I looked healthy for the first time in months. My therapist pointed out that during my last two months of Xerox, he hadn't head me laugh when I laughed in his office.
And don't worry, people can tell when a company is toxic. When I get asked why i put in my two weeks when interviewing, I tell them to look at the last 6 months of stock history. I tell stories about my mentor being laid off and the workload and the stressful climate, and they believe it. Xerox failed you. Don't apologize for it.
If you think your gonna get laid off, let them lay you off and enjoy the severance (if any), and unemployment insurance. If you're worried they're not coming for you anytime soon, you don't have to wait on the sinking ship.
Thanks for nothing Xerox!
