Firing people AND failing to keep up with CPI is further proof of poor management and lack of commitment to well-being of employees. All of the messaging - DEI, career development, "Better Together", squandering of acquired assets, no recognition of company loyalty or contributions - cannot mask the reality that Open Text DOES NOT CARE. They don't care about our families. They don't care about our livelihood. They don't care about the mental toll a toxic environment where people are constantly worried about their jobs. If they did, and layoffs were really necessary, they would provide warning to allow people to start looking for something new and to transition in a responsible way. Where I've worked before - a notice of 1-2 months. As long as you continue doing your work and help with transition, you will be eligible for severance. Most people want to leave on good terms. It's humane and more productive.
People can't feed their families when they lose buying power, so yes, I do care about this topic!
people are losing their jobs. no one cares about your buying power.
