Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Additional bonus?

I heard from two friends at a conference that they received additional bonuses this year due to unusually better finances in oil and gas. One of the friend works at Total and other in Oxy. I heard Oxy paid 5% to all employees in addition to their annual bonus. I hope we get similar good news before new year.

$300,000 x 52% = $156,000 February 2021.

$156,000 x 2.5 = $390,000 today’s value

In less than 2 years, the RSUs for the average SGL 19 are much more than a year’s salary. The differentials are real. You’re either chosen or not.

If you are complaining about not getting stock, then you are not one of the chosen. Stop beating yourself up.

Maybe everyone can get a paid vacation—er, working trip to Alaska next summer. Same as the execs and their families and friends. Lots of fishing—-I mean work to be done!

Sorry. The only pay that matters is the CEO’s pay.

Big Daddy Ryan will give some “aw shucks” reason as to why nothing will change for the better. Probably something to do with strong balance sheets and blah blah blah.

The company doesn't give enough stock compensation for the VROC to mean anything to most employees. I have been at COP for 10 years, had 4 differential ratings and got a total of 500 shares of stock 2x only for a whopping $150 bonus due to VROC. I would love to get paid more in stock compensation, but doesn't appear to be this company's strategy to allow employees to be 'bought in' to the company. We dont even have a stock purchase program that is found at MANY companies allowing you to purchase stock at 10% discount to market price. This is my largest complaint about comp here at COP

Add to the list Shell and Hilcorp. I am with company for 20 years and don’t think we will have any such thing.
