Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

How much for Kinetic ?

Frontier is being purchased by Verizon for $20b. That was announced last September, not yet closed.

And news reports say that AT&T is in talks to buy remainder of Lumen's consumer business for $5.5b, which is mostly the former US West footprint.
Lumen's previous consumer sale became Brightspeed.

How much for Kinetic ? $1b, $2b, $3b, $4b ???

Verizon buying Frontier puts the kibosh on that as the outcome. Maybe if you mean whatever husk of Frontier is left after that, sure

Split failed because CLEC business is terminally underwater and nothing is going to change that. The only thing of value on the CLEC side is customer lists. Tony kept pushing trying to get it done. Had several suitors but once they saw financials they always backed out.

I see us consolidating with Uniti, then Frontier, then Elliott exits their position.

Splitting off parts doesn't seem like it's on the table anymore. Spent all that time doing "project utopia" which was "double all of our servers to split out parts where ILEC and CLEC were sharing the same ones" to try and prepare for a split scenario. And then bailed on that when it became clear that was gonna, you know, double costs.

I think Elliot wants to sell the whole thing. Splitting off parts would be an absolute nightmare.

WS/unity will be lucky if they have to pay under a billion for someone to take that off their hands.
