Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Any layoffs within Consumer Ops and Experience Team?

Hearing of layoffs yesterday. Where any of these within the UHC Consumer Ops and Experience Team (under Mike Baker? We never heard much following the VSRP if layoffs would follow, so wondering if that was yesterday or if this was different teams.

By waiting we received both a severance package and also unemployment benefits. The regular severance was only a few weeks less than the VRSP but we have unemployment as well.

Personally I'm happy I took the VSRP because I could be in control of my end date and have a huge heads up. The unemployment wouldn't be more than the VSRP in my case and the peace of mind is a huge factor to me as well. Even if you don't get cut in the coming week, your anxiety will always be there and your current role might be changed too. I'd rather be in control of my life. Not the company

Taking the VRSP was not a good option for those of us who rolled the dice to see if we kept our jobs. By taking VRSP Unemployment benefits would have been off the table for us.
There are so many postings I don't know why they just couldn't filter us into those open positions. Then when I applied for those positions I was always rejected anyway. I am not sure about those recruiters the couple times I managed to score an interview is because it went around the recruiter. Smh.

That’s why you should have taken the VRSP, read between the lines, knew lay offs would happen based on the very first call when we were told about VRSP, Cierra stated if not enough take the VRSP, there could be layoffs. Well PEX has 500 employees, only 50 took the VRSP and now out of the 500 there are only 80 advocates left who did not get laid off, I’m assuming they will handle all the States where per a providers contract “ they must have an advocate assigned to their group, as well as some Medicaid contracts state an Advovate is a must!!! So if you look at the big picture based on State. Illinois had no Medicaid, minimal Medicare, all the IL advocates are gone. So good luck to whomever takes over the Bigger Facilities that have major claim issues ( which UHC fix the fu--ing internal issues first) etc. I’m waiting patiently to know how vocal the groups will be towards upper management, like Mike Baker. Andrew Wity is a bi--h too, he’s more concerned w why he only made $16.5 million in pay/stocks last year, compared to years before.

DOGE is coming for you, “SIR” Andrew!!!

What about benefit advocates? We haven’t heard anything and we were all offered the VSRP and most didn’t take it

Are you referring to NPSR member escalations?

Yes, member advocates (aka navigators) were let go on Wednesday. As well as ppl from member services escalation teams.

Was part of an email chain from an SVP under Mike Baker that Andrew Witty described our Q1 as “frankly, unusual, and unacceptable”

You weren't laid off because you were older. It's numerous things. Position wasn't needed. How much you were making. And it wasn't illegal. You were let go.

I’m under Mike Baker, wasn’t given 60 notice or pay (illegal) and I was laid off. I’m reading a lot of posts from people who all seem to be older. I believe that is why I was laid off.
