Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Who else is going to jump ship ahead of time?

I've been keeping my eyes and ears open out there since the Marathon merger and have a couple of things lined up. My big question now is whether to take off asap or wait until a possible eoi is offered. Anybody else in this situation? What are your thoughts?

Not to worry. Houston Garden Center is always hiring. Multiple locations to suit your needs. So milk this all you can and then help with Xmas trees.

Dodged the Coloco Loco bullet when the interviewing manager biggest question was about software versions and not technical capability/knowledge/experience.

What a joke of a company.

Jump while you are ahead. Your family will thank you!

Jump while you can since the market for talent will tighten as jobs are moved to india by the big guys, Not enough chairs for everyone when the music stops good luck

Just realize that you actually be required to demonstrate value at another company and show up for work.

There are not many companies that are going to wait 6 months if they have an open position. If you have a good offer now, take it - it probably wont be there in Q4.

Leave on your own terms.

Bottom line is that don’t expect the company or others to care about you. If you haven’t noticed by now, they don’t. There may be a few that do, but don’t count on it. You’re on your own, the sooner you realize that the better for you and your family, if you have one.

It’s is and has been the age we are living in. Best wishes.

If you have over 10 years of experience, I would wait and see what happens while you get your finances in order. Worst case, you get laid off in Q4 and get half a year’s salary at minimum as severance plus VCIP. But if something elsewhere makes you an offer you can’t refuse, I guess you take it.

Saw a couple on LinkedIn already announcing their new roles at other companies.
