With the move away from dedicated desks in Manila, even locker space will now be shared—two employees per tiny unit. Meanwhile, the GM has his own office and a dedicated conference room.

Oh my goodness!!! That is so tough. Don’t worry, the company has resources to help you through this truly TRYING time. You have to share a desk in the outsourced office! Crime!
Reality check - are we supposed to care? You’re employed. Get some perspective and sit pretty.
Manila is just temporary until the next generation of lower cost programs come in. They figure it’s not worth the real estate.
I can't be moved to care about the temporary problems of Manila or Buenos Aires. Chevron is just a step for those we'll be training. They'll leave and will provide the next guy even less knowledge.
I think OP was highlighting leaders hypocrisy ie eFlowers. And if you’ve been to Manila, you’ll know the lockers are super small and now you gotta share it too. It’s ridiculous.
Chevron is too cheap to properly accommodate employees even in low cost area. That’s pretty sad. An assigned workplace is a cost-effective way to enhance a sense of belonging. Whoever came up with hot-desking should ask their family to try hot-bedding with 20% fewer beds at home.
The idea is to be low cost, no?
Ah good, now let’s drive away experienced employees in Manila too with worsening workplace accommodations. Brilliant plan
So sad that Manila has to hot desk. It must be so hard to be growing by double the number of employees over the past 2 years. Tell me how rough it is to have your services forced on every business unit with language barriers and suboptimal service. Explain to me how sharing a desk is such a big problem while thousands of American jobs are being offshored to your country because your time is worth less because your The Philippines hasn’t developed a first-world economy. Allow me to play the world’s smallest violin.
…and yet you get to keep your jobs.
The desks are super tiny already in the first place, crammed and no privacy at all. Pretty much, folks are on top of each other. It has become an ugly office, for sure!
