I have heard 3 big RnD uk directors are leaving. They were probably offered big packages to leave voluntarily. Is this concerning about the state of uk RnD?

So, just to remind folks who are unaware of UK's R&D that literally everything they sell originates from the UK. It was through Solexa acquisition that Illumina obtained SBS and became a sequencing company. That site has been eroded over the years but I would imagine that it still has a good bunch of people (not many original left) who contribute to the chemistry development, enzymology, optics and integration. If they weren't useful, that site would be long gone.
I actually didn't know UK had an R&D dept. How big it is? How is it different than HQ?
