Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Next town halls?

When are the next ones? It’s been quiet…. Too quiet.

Next ones will happen after the involuntary departures. Management, with an HR flunky in tow, will get up there and say things like, "these were hard decisions, but necessary for the future of Chevron", "you've probably lost friends, but know that Chevron has done everything to make theirs a soft landing", "it may be hard now, but we're really excited about what the future holds for Chevron", "it will be difficult to transition to a new organization, but we know we have the best and the brightest to accomplish it", "if you are stressed, please take advantage of Chevron's mental health services", "now that this uncertainty is over, let's all focus on our new goals and organization", "it may seem like many things are changing, but we haven't moved away from our core goals of (add here whatever the new trendy goals are)".

My guess is the next IT Townhall is in the US time zone because the majority of layoffs are in the US. They are going to give us the next steps of the new IT org. It currently looks like >60% of US IT jobs will be eliminated.
The other (3) Tech Centers will be gaining jobs and the management does not want the other time zones to know how Chevron treats their employees because they want to keep that mantra of "Human Energy" so the new employees think they are joining a company that cares about them.

The fact that next IT TH is in a unique time zone is nothing but a lack of respect for people working round the globe.
Don't even organize a Teams TH.
The "message" in itself is negative..
A basic self-service video would be enough.
What's on your mind ?

Next IT is only in one Timezone.. non-US employees will just have to watch the recording.

No point in having town hall or meetings if there is no meaningful information to share

What's wrong is the quietness and no info for you to know too much for social workers? lol

Next Subsurface one is sometime in the beginning of May. At 7 am CDT, so they only have to do it once. Because better to throw everyone's schedules into disarray than inconvenience the presenters by making them speak twice.
