Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

C’mon people, Infinity is here!

Saving us from irrelevance and filling all our gaps! Even Zeus is excited about it. Genesys is fuming because we stole their Multicloud idea. Watch out competitors, we can now compete with anyone now!

We are the best at ACD and d can now connect to any third party app seamlessly! “Orchestration” is here, margin and development be dammed!

Here, we see Avaya's CTO (another ex-Edify mouthpiece!) desperately trying to sell the concept of Avaya Infinity. It's the same over injected hyperbole and wild exaggerated claims you see with all Avaya 'new' product announcements. But hey, I'm sure businesses will be desperate to purchase Infinity on the back of this waffle (just like all previous flagship / business saviour products... 🤔 EDP, Breeze, Oceana, AACC, IQ, Zang, AXP... 😂

https://www.cmswire.com/customer-experience/a-new-era-of-connected-and-modern-customer-agent-and-administrative-experiences/

When will Avaya learn, that this kind of approach doesn't work for them, as the hype waffle never lives up to the reality? I pity the Avaya Sales/Engineers who have to try and sell yet another Avaya halo product and the customers who've fallen for it...

Anything happening in June?

What is obvious is that many of those commenting on how Avaya is going to recover and prosper have never been engaged with clients at the lower levels. They either haven't seen or they are ignoring the widespread dissatisfaction that many clients have with the company and its products. What they fail to realise is that client senior execs do not want to admit to making a huge mistake with Avaya. Those that do accept that end up suing.

It’s surprising to see how disconnected some comments are from the reality of what’s happening. Avaya is clearly in a state of decline, and from everything I’ve seen and heard, it’s unlikely the company will survive beyond the next year. Customers are no longer buying into the smoke and mirrors that have defined the narrative over the past few years.

The decision to cancel Engage and replace it with smaller Journey events feels like a reactive move rather than a strategic one. And based on what I’ve observed, attendance has been underwhelming—mostly business partners and a handful of customers, not the kind of momentum you need when trying to rebuild trust and relevance.

I spent over 20 years with Avaya and appreciated the journey, but now that I’ve moved on to a competitor, it’s a whole new game—and I’m all in.

Avaya will always be playing catch up, with Genesys, Five9, AWS and Nice already looking to reinvent themselves to stay ahead of what the market needs.
I fear that Avaya are just too far behind

Once they sold out, all this does not matter. No one care about their products.

The comment wasn't suggesting that this 'new' product was technically another Oceana. Rather, it was suggesting that the scattergun, haphazard and poorly thought out approach was along the same lines. As for the reply about addressing some of the failings of AXP, I doubt it. In order to address anything Avaya needs to accept that there are significant issues.

You're wrong to compare Infinity to Oceana. Completely different thing. And Infinity is not the same as last year's AXP, there are significant fundamental differences that address AXP's shortcomings.

There's no clear path forward. AXP was a poorly designed and supported product and edify is not real proven so it's a jumble of technology on the hope that existing customers would rather take the risk with it rather than pay a huge amount to move to another solution. This is just Oceana part two.

Even Dave Michels struggles to articulate the 'new' Avaya Infinity mash-up (AXP + Edify). 😄

Infniity just needs some DIY sport-themed beanies, painted glitter boots, a pod cast and a collection of AI-writtten nonsensical content garbage and it will be a game-changing superstar thoughtleader optical illusion success story! Pity the fool who is envious of such fantastical greatness.

Avaya hasn't been the best at very much lately. Perhaps, if those making such comments actually were involved in the day to day operations of their clients then they would realise it. The only reason the big clients aren't leaving is the cost.

Another product renaming exercise and acquisition (Edify) bolt-on....

https://www.cxtoday.com/contact-center/avaya-renames-its-axp-platform-its-now-the-avaya-infinity-platform/

Aavaya Experience Platform (AXP) was such a poor naming choice, as it was easily confused with the old Avaya Experience Portal (AEP) product. Avoidable own goal right there 🤣

This marketing gimmick is right up there with 'Aura' and 'Flare'...
