Houston hit too. The office was closed last June, so everyone there was remote
Yes, I received 2 weeks severance for 2 years of service. I am based remotely out of Fresno, CA.
Are any severance packages being offered in the US?

Opentext has hired one new employee, Microsoft CoPilot. The transition toward AI can be challenging for many organizations, especially when it comes to balancing innovation with the well-being of employees.
It's true that in corporate environments, stock performance often takes precedence, which can lead to difficult decisions regarding workforce management. I hope for minimal layoffs rand desire for a workplace that values its employees and their contributions.
Ultimately, the success of any company in leveraging new technologies depends on its ability to adapt while maintaining a strong focus on its human capital. Let's hope that OpenText can navigate these changes effectively and create an environment that fosters both innovation and employee well-being. But not sure that is possible with the current leadership.
I am an OT employee in Provo. I have heard that 26 employees out of 98 total were laid off today. I have also heard that more layoffs are possible tomorrow and Wednesday
Man, it’s really hard to concentrate knowing there’s a massive layoff happening at another location, and we have no clue what’s coming in the next few days. Everyone’s acting like it’s business as usual, but the uncertainty is tough to ignore.
I have a feeling some of my coworkers might be reading this post. To all of you: please don’t panic. If it turns out that tomorrow is my last day, I just want to say it’s truly been a pleasure working with you. You’re some of the kindest and most supportive people I’ve had the chance to work with. 😊
"I look forward to sharing more messages following our third quarter results at the end of April and am deeply proud of our culture at OpenText as the greatest software company in the world." --Mark Barrenechea.
So OT has that going for them, at least.
There is another wave on Tuesday and Wednesday for US and Costa Rica employees.
Today feels noticeably different than usual:
Several coworkers mentioned they weren’t feeling well and decided to take the day off.
Meetings have been unusually quiet—no one is really talking.
My inbox has been silent, with no new emails.
The roads were pretty empty on the way in.
And there’s barely any foot traffic in the office either.
Like the last six layoffs in less than 2.5 years, laying off high wage employees is the bang for the Mark buck.
Yehud Israel was hit hard, another high wage place like the US of A.

Linked in updates are a lagging indicator. People who are left behind can go in and see who has been turned off in the system. Or they may get more info in a few days once it’s over. Any leadership removals? VP and above? Or will they be running the company now, taking tickets and QAing code?
obviously not true, i do not see anyone in my network updating his/her linkedin profile to open to work, at least not today
