The founders spun OpenText off from a University of Waterloo project that developed technology to index the Oxford English Dictionary. After that, it appears to all be innovation through acquisitions which is the strategy of the last 2 CEO after Tim Jenkins.

Im sure his salary and bonus will be great this year with all the cost cutting happening today
God forbid MB lets us do some R&D and make something new or innovate from zero. Not enough cash for that, we need to pay his big bonus instead and make the stock line go up or he's going to turn red like a tomato and explode.
I guess the logic is rather than take a risk with a big pay out it's better to slowly let the company rot while MB lives his lavish life like the fat tu-d he is. What a great leader.
