Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Which departments May 1?

Does anybody have any idea which departments in O&E will see lay offs?

I don't think anyone knows. Just taking it one day at a time and staying strong for today.

Do they gave a target number they are trying to reach by May 1?

Was your meeting set for today? Will they move it to next week?

Always a good sign when the quarterly all-employee meeting gets cancelled on short notice.

There’s no way Network is getting out of this unscathed

Why are there so many job openings where the requirement is specifically under O&E? Was this their prep of what’s to come??

To the person who mentioned a Re-org of the Contracting team and Sr. leadership being let go, what state are you in?

I wonder if there will be more representatives impacted in the near future. My thoughts are with everyone affected during this challenging time. It appears that even if individuals didn't opt for the VRSP, they may still face layoffs without much notice. I’m sending positive thoughts and support to all during this difficult period.

My team was impacted in operations. No idea of the scope across our larger team though.

Can someone please explain what a “schedule” is? What department is the schedule for? My department was offered VRSP but we don’t work with a schedule. Thanks

I don't think anyone knows and I don’t even think management knows. I think we’re all gonna find out at the same time maybe higher up management but I don’t think our direct management know. I think we just need to lean in and lean on each other and support each other.

How do we know if we are affected? Was it the same dept that was offered the buyout?

So it looks like we lose benefits this month instead of the end of May if they let us go this month. This is bad.

Is it concerning if our department’s schedule hasn’t been created anymore? My heart goes out to everyone affected during this time. Let's keep each other in our thoughts and support one another.

It’s unfortunate to hear that the entire 3rd and 4th floors at the Las Vegas HQ have been laid off. It’s a challenging situation, and it’s important to acknowledge the impact this has on everyone involved. The only positions remaining are the VP of Business Analytics and the Director of Sales, which highlights the difficult decisions that have had to be made during this time. My thoughts are with those affected.

Las Vegas HQ already laid off the entire 3-4th floors. Only VP Business Analytics and Director of Sales are spared.

Under Lesley Hare Benefits Operations division under that hierarchy. Remember United HealthGroup is a very large company of 400,000 even if it’s 20,000 that’s not a lot company wide it’s a lot for a division though. I’m sure not all will be laid off they will probably just trim from the bottom up the last hired will be first in line and up that’s normally how companies of this size does layoffs they will see where trimming is needed we offshore can step in and go from there no one has a play by play of how and who will be included in the layoffs but it’s pretty well documented as an idea based on all the meeting and the a thousand people that already accepted. The first wave is on May 1

They cannot cut everyone who didn't accept the offer. You do realize it was entire teams that was offered to right. They cannot just lay off entire teams.

So anyone who did not take it the first round is for sure getting cut?

I heard it’s only departments that land under the Benefits Operations division and only what’s left of anyone that didn’t take the buyout the last number I heard was 1k accepted it so far
