Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Five things I'd like to see our company do differently

  1. Set personal example. With the current situation, it's okay to explain why it's important to cut expenses strategically. However, when the CEO makes tens of millions, it's time to cut his salary to $1.
  1. Make sure you don't get caught up in external events and talk about other things as if nothing happened. Not at the Wall Street Journal conference, nor at Mobileye Nasdaq IPO, where dozens of people smile while thousands of families of fired Intel employees are wondering how they'll provide for their children. We don't want to see the senior leadership behave like usual.
  1. Don't post non-authentic stuff on social media. You can't talk about friendship while your friends are geting axed . Please be kind to us. Understand it.
  1. Don't leak your messages to the media. Why would Intel's communications and PR department leak upcoming layoffs to Bloomberg? Communicate honestly, authentically, and honestly. Why do we have to read about this in the media? The Bloomberg thing was a mistake. Stop doing it.
  1. We want to know how senior management can cut before it affects regular employees. Show us we're all in the same boat. Everyone is doing their part. At the moment, it seems you're saving more through your employees than through your senior managers.

I’ll believe management layer impact when I see it. Not just first line managers. Full stop.

Christy said lay off decisions will be left to managers. Favoritism is rampant with those incompetent managers. So they keep their favorites. Then those managers will keep their favorites until it finally comes down to bottom most layer.

It we be completely unfair , unsustainable, and will back fire Intel because incompetent middle management will still need people to justify their own headcount’s. Once things ease up, middle managing will ask for head counts and start hiring again

In my group the middle management has very low turnover while the bottom most layer ICs has the highest turnover. This is during normal times. Now during lay offs you can imagine which layer will be let go.

HA! You think ELT / BoD have any honor.
Their actions say otherwise. But, business is business.
