Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

So glad I’m retired

After reading these posts I think I am one of the lucky ones who had a full career at Anthem. I feel bad for the folks with 10+ years to go. It’s depressing to read about RIF after RIF. I wish everyone the best of luck

I retired after 15+ yrs . Place became unbearably toxic - happy to leave - I have learned this from myself and others - you are so important, you have to deal with every fire drill, etc. and when you leave you are not missed, the only thing that is missed is the actual work you did, not you - if you are making this place your "world" - you will be sadly disappointed to find out they don't care you are just a person filling a slot. Everyone I talk to is miserable, sad, worried, angry, upset, exhausted, overwhelmed - see a theme - no one is happy. Didn't used to be this way -

I did not retire; I quit a week after they hired me. After a few of the infamous waste of time meetings, it became clear this was a smoke and mirrors situation.

It's the outsourcing, h1b visa programs turning our careers into gig jobs. Thousands of applicants are always good for companies.

You probably experienced some good times when this was actually a great to place to work. Different leadership and different mindset. Totally different now.
