non-technical EMIT managers

Why are EMIT full of non-technical managers who don't understand sh1t about IT? Most of them are stupid as sh1t but want to be seen as leaders. We can do more with less of them.

Every supervisor in upstream and downstream is non technical. They are just paper pushers. I work in a analytical area and the super is clueless. The supervisor was from procurement and knows nothing about science. When I was the team lead for my group I was the technical team lead. I knew everything about the process and was to go to person for the area we worked in. I helped all the other employees with testing and technical expertise. At least now the supervisor cannot micromanage the technical work I do. The downside is if I need any help they are useless.

The technical employees I have seen put in management positions have been mostly miserable leaders. Not to say many of the management track folks aren’t also miserable leaders.

“Everyone above me is d-mb.” Yet you’re still working under them. “Everyone at this company is incompetent.” And you’re still cashing their checks. You people are a hopeless chorus of never-ending complainers, stuck on repeat.

Hahaha. Looks like we reeled in one of the those EMIT dudes with no skills.

@b7+1, as this is a website dedicated to observations on our EM work environment, OP’s question is appropriate. Your response is a head scratcher. Should we all join you in your existential crisis?

IInstead of asking why EMIT is full of non-technical managers, maybe start asking: why did I choose to exist in this environment? What am I here to learn? Why did I manifest a workspace that challenges my patience, my pride, and my perception of intelligence? The real IT here is Inner Truth. Look around, if you think everyone is d-mb, it might be time to reflect on the energy you're bringing into the room. Growth starts when you stop criticising others and start asking better questions. Otherwise, you've just become the smartest person in room you don't even want to be in. Congrats!
