Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Severance

Outside of what this place is offering, I’m trying to figure out what counts as a fair severance package? Some places offer a month per year of service, while others stick to two or three weeks. With everything getting more expensive, even that might not cut it. What’s considered reasonable these days when companies start handing out layoff notices?

From 2020-2024 bank employees would get 52 weeks of salary as severance. Now it’s a minimum of 26 weeks, and if your tenure is over 13 years then you’ll get the larger of the 2, so example, I’m 15 years in, so I would get 30 weeks severance (a little less due to the taxes being taken out).

I am not sure there is a solid answer to this.

What happened in Tampa, besides the rto nonsense?

Just getting a severance is reasonable. Depending on what state you live, a company just fire you, at-will, without cause. Feel lucky if you get one.
