Promos

Anyone tough it out for a promo held out on a stick for over a year? I'm far past qualified for the role. Even if I get it I'm sure they'll want me to kiss their feet after.

Just get the resume out there. I’ve been in your position for years and continue to get excuse after excuse. It’s not a place to grow a career.

ALL senior managers and directors are incompetent. We need to stand up and start letting them know.

Had a bad experience with that this year. If it weren't for reasons outside of work I'd leave but this year I'll bide my time, not give 100% , work on some skills for CV, and jump in next year or 2 because some (certainly not all) senior managers/directors are incompetent, and I'm stuck with one of them.

They will string you along, moving the goalpost constantly to try and get you to do more. It’s a cr-ppy job market right now but get out there and apply. NOTHING will change the toxic culture and practices here.

After all the extra work you will hear their classic “……but you missed this metric right here. Even though our reporting system was down for six months.”

Yep. And it never happened. Always an excuse or the old management fallback, 'Uhhh...we're still working on it.'
