Are AVP, VP, and SVP titles linked to grade or compensation or are they symbolic only? In Wealth Management if that makes a difference.

One is better on their knees than the other. "Gulp, swallow"
I got VP at grade 14 or 15. AVP was about tenure only at least in my case. I think I’d been there like a year or so. It just happened one day - my manager didn’t even tell me beforehand.
I was a VP from grade 15. But now you have to be a 16 to get it.
I "got" VP at grade 14 but is honestly completely meaningless outside of a sales pitch to customers who think they might be dealing with someone important. A manager of a good Kwik Trip station makes more than some "VP"s at many banks, including US Bank.
I totally agree. I know plenty of individuals in SVP roles that are completely worthless and don't know the first thing about their own business line.
Speaking as an AVP, they are completely meaningless (at least to me they are.)
The post below is almost accurate, but I’m a 13 and an AVP. Keep in mind some were grandfathered in a few years ago with the change.
AVP= Pay Grade: 14 & 15
VP = Pay Grade: 16 & 17
SVP = Pay Grade: 18,19, & 20
I got VP at grade 16
What grade level are VPs?
Linked to grade and compensation.
