I left in 2022 June to join my ex company after working in illumina for 6 years and up to that point there was no RIF. I heard there are many RIF now and it sad to hear that
What is the clinical solutions department? Is this under ILS?
I have been at Illumina for 3 yrs and there has been a layoff every 6 months at least.
Literally everyone is at risk for the next rif! Do not delude yourself into thinking that you are safe. The people that were let go this week from my department were of top caliber! Clinical solutions is now dead in the water, we are in the process of being completely wiped off the map. Do not wait to start looking for your next opportunity, people! Believe what they are doing, not the absolute garbage that is coming out of their mouths.
Difficult to read what i'm seeing here. I'm not at risk but i feel terrible for those who are. So many good people. People i consider friends. They are Illumina through and through. They couldn't have done more for this company and now they are being told they are no longer required. Lets show compassion for them instead of asking whats next...
Well, illumina is a sinking ship
It is just a matter of time for us all to leave the company, whether by force by RIF or by our own volition due to worse condition, compensataion, and more work with less resources.
We all need to be prepared. Personally, I already mentally prepared and saving a lot of expense for the day to come.
Can we please have some empathy for those who are currently going through it. It’s not “done” there are still decisions being made and I am one of those people who is affected. I don’t know if I have a job or not after being with Illumina for 10 years!! Please we are humans with feelings.
