That's it, that's the question

20 to 30% cut in IT.
Does it seem odd that so many companies hired ,H1Bs to.replace Americans are going to be replaced by outsource to India?
Everything is in the cloud now, we don't need IT people except to help press the power button when your laptop is broken.
Yes. Next question.
Word on the street is that we might be taking the same path as others and most recently CVX. Think EY has been contacted as they seem to be the favorites for this.
If so almost all ops goes to India or other centers, with large cuts and even at various mgmt levels.
Someone I had worked with in past says CVX is cutting a much larger mgmt presence than usual. Hopefully some of that is true at least with cutting some of our “leaders”. Definitely overpaid and not talented.
Can I interest you in a blueberry squishy?
Outsourced until some senior VP has to deal with the nightmare that is a sub-continent call centre.
Thank you, Come Again...
How long will it take before someone answers this question and includes the President of the United States in the answer?
It seriously is high time you all realize that with AI and automation the majority of you are going to be out of a job before 2030. It’ll be a slow trickle to reduce so as to not arouse any discontent. If you haven't seen any of the latest tools; they are incredible. Not talking about GPT or others either.
We are all going to be made redundant. You move to maybe a company that isn’t as profitable but when these tools become more optimized and efficient, you’ll be laid off there as well.
Trump is only there to convince the most staunch republicans and libertarians to accept this dystopian future. You had your chance to push back on this and you’re all ignoring the inevitable shift. Right now you’re training your replacement and you don’t even realize it.
Get ready to call India for IT support.
Why do you need for desk top support? If you can't fit it yourself (a work station issue), then you should resign and leave COP.
Yes, IT is getting cut. That was always in scope once they started moving everything to cloud applications. Just surprised it's taken this long for layoffs. All operational support is outsourced. Moving between centralized operations and business facing changes every few years just like layoffs. Depends on which consultants they hire to give them operational advice.
One word. CENTRALIZATION. It is not a good time to be in IT. That’s for sure.
Big time! They are already outsourcing.
