Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

USB is just like any other bank - not worth your dedication

There’s no point in staying with a bank for more than a couple of years. I’ve worked at several, and they’re all equally bad. USB fits the mold perfectly. They’ve all become sweatshops, offering no real opportunities for advancement or meaningful career growth. Turnover is high across the board. And ironically, the more skilled and knowledgeable you are, the more likely you are to be shown the door—replaced by cheaper labor, automation, or offshoring—simply because you earn a decent salary. If you stay thinking your loyalty or investment will pay off, you’ll end up regretting it.

Offshoring is easier than automation. Has been happening for decades in all the industry. Look at the offshoring of manufacturing to China - esp for the Apple iphones that we all use.
