Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

How can you fail a dr-g test and still climb to 28 level without corruption in the system.

Catching up on th site, Can't believe a GM failed a dr-g test which was covered up and has continued to climb in the system, For most of us a big night out and an unlucky random test would be the end of us, Why is there a double standard?

In the CA refineries, we have routine inspections of all offices with dr-g sniffing dogs.

Is the GM from CA? They don't have random dr-g testing in CA. They're actually surprised random dr-g testings are done in offices outside of CA.

Many years back I had to cancel a scheduled conference call with my SR supervisor because I got called for random dr-g testing. Her and her team was surprised that that is quite normal in Texas.

How can a dr-g test be covered up. Did the business unit management not know?

And yet we low-key demand our business partners dr-g test post accident so that when they fail and get thrown off location we can point to that instead of actual safety problems.

Try again. Anyone who fails a test, except in select BU’s or under very specific circumstances such as post accident, gets a a single lifetime second chance. Enter treatment, undergo testing for several years and you get another shot.

You're misinformed. Fail test means you're out for treatment and when back it's weekly testing and then monthly then back on random. Everyone gets one chance. Most corporate America is like that no matter what position

Theyre still doing dr-g tests? I haven't gotten one since 2019.

Chevron uses a 5-panel ur--e test that does not include the ability to detect psilocybin mushrooms. Mushrooms will not show up on 8, 10, or 12-panel dr-g tests either. Just in case you're wondering.

Our dr-g program is archaic, particularly around THC. Who cares.

Nice try. In over 30 years with CVX, I've seen multiple people get popped positive on the D&A test. CVX has a simple choice. Go into a treatment program along with random testing, pass both and keep going. Fail either and you're gone.

So what?

Is anyone surprised someone would have to self-medicate while working here?

If it forces them to get help then all the better.
