Depends on what environmental conditions they set against them but typically the ones not considered arrogant by FnF

Unlike the early 90' when I came in under the program, the FCG' today think much differently about their careers and work live balance. We were looking long-term to a rewarding career with a solid company and job security. That obviously changed significantly.

Graduates today are much more connected with each other and the job market. My conversations with some of the young engineers that I have worked with indicate they are more than willing to seek other employment if their personal and career needs are not met. It is not strictly about career or money anymore; it is about the balance.

The ones that won't or don't get out on their own, can't get out. It is as simple as that.

5 years is pushing it. You'd want to get out at 3. Don't waste your career, there's plenty to see and if you are a glutton for punishment and wanna go back some day, then so be it. But not even with Ford, don't spend your 1st years out of college stuck at one employer. None of them will be loyal to you, so be a mercenary and push your way through those years and get as much varied experiencing as you can. P*$$ on company loyalty, they have none for you.

33 yrs till I was kicked out the door... Back in 1987 to 1992 we were all FCGP...

It was a great kick a-s program... Older engineers showed us the way and we had a good time. Then greed kicked in somewhere and everyone wanted to be in management and it all fell apart. It stopped being fun when clowns started making stupid decisions.

Jac was the first A$$hat...Mullaly bought us a few years then Hackett and his A$$ clowns who followed blew it all to heck. Billy is the constant thru all of this...

False. If they land in Model e, they can be on a path to a HTHD position in time. The very best of those can switch to the management roles if that is their career aspiration.

I've seen these scenarios first hand in Model e since it was formed.

FCG Program is great and a great way to find a spot that works for you and Ford for the long haul.

It varies by degree and area. For example computer science degrees 65%. When you drill down further those with computer science degrees who expected to be coding and making a difference it is 82%. Those that are more “management track” (aka can’t code their way out of a paper bag) hang around Ford.

I have a group of six in the last five years. One left because he got a job in investments. The second one left because she kept going on vacation and was shown the door. The other four are still here but have about 3 years seniority.
