Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Thoughts on WARN Act Issues?

Saw this, granted it’s a law firm, but curious if there’s any weight to this:

Chevron is providing a minimum of 8 weeks severance, so even employees hired with the past few years who are laid off will receive the minimum (60 days notice or pay in lieu) required by the federal WARN Act. This is a non-story.

Lawyers gonna lawyer. You realize even if they did mess it up, then all they have to do is keep you on the payroll for the first 9 weeks of your 'severance' and then their 60 days are covered.

Yes interesting. They say they are a class action firm. Maybe they are looking to get paid. Text on the warn act says if companies give “ notice too late or providing unclear notices”. Maybe they are targeting the clarity portion.

It’s just some slimy attorney on a fishing expedition trying to dig into Chevrons deep pockets. As if chevrons slimy attorneys don’t know about the 60 day notice? Please.
