Collins Aerospace under investigation for potential WARN Act violations in Iowa layoffs
A Chicago law firm, Strauss Borrelli PLLC, is investigating layoffs of 160 Iowa employees announced in mid-March
WARN Act requires 60-day written notice before mass layoffs or plant closures
Collins allegedly gave notice on March 13 with an effective layoff date of April 13 — possibly violating the 60-day rule
Employees affected may be entitled to 60 days of severance pay & benefits under the law
Collins stated the layoffs are part of a global cost-reduction & restructuring effort to meet aerospace product demand
Strauss Borrelli notes that late or unclear WARN Act notices can result in back pay & benefits owed to employees
The firm is encouraging affected workers to contact them at 872-263-1100 or sam@straussborrelli.com
