Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Priorities

We need to layoff 1,200 workers! Labor costs are too high.

But this week in Charlotte, let’s have a “coloring contest” and “crochet lessons”!!!!!

So much productivity! I’m sure this won’t be a huge waste of time and we won’t feel like we are overstaffed when we choose this weeks bestest colorer in the whole woooorld.

And everyone wonders why this company is going to the sh—ter

I agree, I had to cover for my Charlotte co-worker to go laugh and have fun while volunteering in Charlotte. Same thing happened back in 1999-2004, Charlotte couldn’t work Sundays because they had to go to church. Denver heathens could work Sundays for them.

This is just workplace services trying to make work fun. all they do is distract from getting work done.

Immature, incompetent go all the way up management. For those of you who participated in these kind of little kid games. You are a perfect fit for this company's culture.

Meanwhile, Gen-Xers here, just trying to lay low and ride it out as long as we can. Maybe semi-retire early when they lay off all of us Gen-X know how to fly under the radar. Good luck to the kiddos! We've seen all of this before.

To be fair, while I don’t live in Charlotte… associates in that site probably needs this downtime and to relax now and often, while they still can. Not that many do these stupid extracurricular activities during work hours anyway…

Once Denver closes and they have Frisco newbies they will be doing at least 3-4 times the work that they are doing now.
