Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Does anyone think OpenText will be acquired? If yes, by who?

OpenText is too big to fail and currently in the black, not in fear of needing to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy. But if the stock goes under $20 which it hasn’t done since 2015, thinking a big tech company will purchase them to get the customer base and to get the core ECM product. Thoughts?

Yeah - looking at it from an EDI perspective it would be one of these companies: https://technologymagazine.com/top10/top-10-companies-in-the-world-of-big-data

As long as Mark’s involved any acquisition would be hostile. The golden nugget no one talks about is the data locked away in the EDI B2B A2A business units. Trillions in commerce flow through opentext systems. That data is extremely valuable.

No. OpenText has too many legacy services that no other org would want.

The only caveat would be if a corporate raider bought OpenText and then sold it off for parts (the parts may be worth more than the whole in the right hands)

SAP might be the one to do it.
